The Battle of Hoth

In late 2014 I announced that I was taking painting commissions for the holidays. One guy reached out to me and asked if I ever did anything related to Star Wars. Well, to tell the truth, no, I had never done that before. But Im not one to back away from a challenge! I gave it a shot, and Im glad I did!

I wanted to see if I could paint something Star Wars related and keep it in line with my foggy, abstract approach that I began developing during the 2014 Art Every Day Month Challenge. So I started out with an abstract, orange drippy composition, and slowly built it up into a foggy snowstorm complete with AT-AT (All Terrain Armored Transport) Walkers doing battle with Snow Speeders on the snow planet Hoth in The Empire Strikes Back.

It was a lot of fun to do, and I hope to do more Star Wars themed art in the future!
